I believe that throughout this semester i have learned expansive amounts in this class. I have put in full effort to learn new things and expand my knowledge on skills I already had some idea about. Some of my biggest successes in this class include learning how to draw facial structure, and learning how to draw and add color to make my drawings more realistic and add perspective. Some things that surprised were that adding different types of lines can add depth to your drawings. My favorite project was probably either clay pinch pots or portraits because they were the most fun to me and I feel like I learned the most. In these projects I learned how to shade, mold with my thumbs, whoop, and I learned about new clay molding techniques I had no idea about. This affected my finished project because it made it look more professional with cleaner lines. I hope to use these skills in the future when I take ceramics next year. And I will also do more art at Mount Si.

For the spooky tree drawing, I drew it using a stylus and my ipad. It's based off of Disney style "spooky tree" scenes/drawings and the mood is more of a mysterious/ shielded look. Some skills I learned while drawing this is how to change the drawing colors of the foreground/background/ and middle ground of create perspective.

This is my unfinished ipad Spooky Tree Drawing.

This is the drawing I drew using the sketchbook express software and a stylus on the iPad. I learned that you have to use less than 50% opacity when drawing because it makes your drawing look more realistic. You can also add highlights/ lowlights to add realism to your drawing.

This is my edited, completed box piece; before firing. I redesigned the walls of the box, but still with a similar theme. The clay building methods I've learned so far are scoring and slipping, whomping, adding coils to make the wall edges sturdier.

This is my incomplete box piece. So far I only have three of the four faces decorated and will soon be putting them together using the skill score and slip. I will them create a thin coil out of clay and use that to more thoroughly stick the sides together. My plan for the box is to decorate is as a ocean/starry night kind of idea. I  feel that this task was fairly easy to understand and pretty straightforward.

Unfortunately due to my hospitalization, I was unable to make or fire a bisque piece.

This is my pinch pot, and I made it using my hands and a medium sized piece of clay. I learned many new skills while I worked on it, such as whomping, some sculpting basics, and how to make the sides even so they heat properly and dont explode. Art elements are, to make a hollow even sided pinch pot which I believe I did. The idea behind my pinch pot was a galaxy.

This face sketch is of one of my best friends Journey, and it was done on paper with pencil. A new skill I acquired while completing this piece was how to shadow to add realism to my drawing. I think the feeling of this drawing is stillness and tranquility.

This is my completed face sketch. We  had to draw it without a ruler, causing us to have to edit our face shape many times to make the relative skull shape and size seem realistic. We had to divide the face into four parts and the eyes were in the very center, the nose is about one fingers length up from the mouth and the mouth is roughly two fingers length up from the chin. The neck is just below the chin. The shape of the average eye is round with the top eyelid usually rounded and a flatter bottom lid. You make an eyeball look glassy with three tones and
